Biographical Text

Wilhelmina Jones was the daughter of Commodore Jacob Jones, and a sister at the Visitation convent in Washington, D.C. She was known as "Sister Stanny" to her friends.

Biographical Quotation

"On the 15th of August, 1825, Wilhelmina Jones received the veil and her religious name of Sister Mary Stanislaus. On the same day in 1826, she pronounced her solemn vows. She died in the community, September 11, 1879, at the age of seventy-seven years and nine months; having been professed fifty-three years."
